About

Message from the founder

I held a deep affection for my grandfather, despite his rugged, old-school demeanor. A true warrior, he served as a military policeman during World War II. Despite his tough exterior, he showered my brother and me with unwavering kindness. He embodied the quintessential Midwestern spirit, complete with a penchant for chain smoking and the unmistakable scent of Zippo fluid. He may have been a bit gruff from his military days, but his love for his grandsons was evident, and we cherished every moment spent with him.

We both shared the middle name William, "Billy" for short. With his last name being Crank, I like how it sounded when I put the two together. The epaulettes on the shoulders of The Presley jacket are a nod to him and his service.

Introducing billy crank. A brand created by me, for you. Combining functionality and style, my goal is to provide a comfortable garment that exudes confidence. It took me three years to perfect the fit, fabric, colorways, and every detail. I took the time to do it right, and I'm thrilled and humbled to finally release it. billy crank goes beyond mere attire; it solves the perennial dilemma of what to wear while embracing timeless features that defy passing trends.

Our Production Process

We operate under a small batch production and presale model, recognizing the value of precision and attention to detail. By limiting quantities and optimizing costs, we ensure that every piece reflects our commitment to providing men with exclusive, high-quality apparel. Pre-sale also allows for limited waste of raw materials. All of our production begins once pre-sale sells out. Once Pre-sale ends we go into production which takes 10-12 weeks.

We believe that transparency is crucial to our growth and relationship with you who trust us with your purchase. We want to keep you informed as much as possible, please make sure to sign up on our email list to get order and production updates as well as new release information.

It all started three years ago with me sourcing Ponte knit fabrics in Los Angeles.

It was important to me to find a fabric that wouldn't wrinkle; it had to stretch and give while traveling. Something that could be worn throughout the day while remaining versatile and comfortable.
